Our journey into the clinical application space began with the leading EHR providers, all of which require very high standards of security, scalability, and performance for the EHR workloads. With this work complete, tackling the unique requirements of clinical imaging and archiving solutions was a natural fit for Nutanix. PACS workloads require all the same standards as an EHR workload plus the ability to easily scale compute and storage on demand outside of standard refresh cycles. The ability to independently grow the application, cache, and archive tiers is invaluable as user counts increase, modalities become more sophisticated, and image studies grow in size.
The Nutanix Healthcare team is pleased to announce the latest workloads added to our certified list are GE Centricity PACS and Centricity Clinical Archive. Nutanix’s healthcare engineering team partnered with GE to validate core Nutanix® products, including our AOS , AHV, ESXi, Files, and Objects products. In addition to leveraging the standard benefits of our operating system and hypervisor, GE Centricity is the first imaging solution to take advantage of our Nutanix Files integrated NAS for SMB and Nutanix Objects software for S3-compatible image storage.
We continuously work with our healthcare customers to innovate new approaches to healthcare IT services. Hybrid cloud and multicloud are key to our customers’ use cases, and our solutions architects and engineers are busy bringing innovative solutions to our customers in these technologies. In fact, while our previous testing has focused on on-premises deployment of GE Centricity solutions on Nutanix, we are now actively researching running GE Centricity workloads in a hybrid cloud using Nutanix Clusters on AWS.
